Consultancy Centre:
o Credit Management Faculty
o Treasury Management Faculty

o Business Development & Consultancy Centre
The five faculties undertake training and also participate in the
consultancy and research programmes of the Consultancy Centre.
In addition to coordinating research and consultancy assignments of the
College, the Consultancy Centre has responsibility for new business
development, relationship management and interventions in Micro-finance
And Micro, Small And Medium Scale Enterprise (MSME) Development. Various
studies in Ghana indicate that MSMEs represent approximately 90% of the
businesses registered in the country. Their growing importance is seen
in the growing number of banks creating dedicated units for MSMEs to
support the work of the micro-finance institutions who are
under-resourced and require significant capacity building in funding and
human capital development.
The objective here therefore is to improve the capacity of financial
sector institutions to appreciate the peculiar funding needs of the MSME
sector through carefully packaged training programmes. Entrepreneurship
and enterprise to develop programmes will also be developed to better
equip MSME managers to operate efficiently and profitably through
improved systems to ensure lower default rates regarding credit advanced
to the sector.

logistical support to the faculties. They comprise Library Services,
Accounts, Transport and General Services.

The National Banking College has a keen interest in promoting applied
research in areas of applied economics, banking & finance and related
area as well as enterprise development. Advances in these fields are of
relevance to the needs of the financial sector in Ghana and the
sub-region as a whole. With growing competition, the financial services
sector is faced with strategic choices with implications for the
long-term viability of the respective institutions. Research activities
will continue to be focused on developing a body of knowledge that will
be of timely assistance to the successful evaluation of options for
growth and development of industry participants.
Publications of research outcomes and articles will aim to contribute to
the advancement of knowledge directly related to the theory and practice
of banking and finance particularly in an emerging economy. The primary
goal is to disseminate the results of scholarly activity to a broad
audience consisting of academic faculty and bank administrators,
business executives, consultants, development specialists and
governmental managers. The publications will continue to be a means to
disseminate the latest information and findings of both the academic and
business communities, and to act as a bridge between them.
