to bear on the quality of our training and consultancy services. It is
through such commitment that we expect to continue to positively impact the
performance of a cherished participants to contribute to the economic growth
of their respective jurisdictions in West Africa and farther afield.
The new millennium has presented the financial and business communities with
several challenges and threats. There are, however, tremendous opportunities
as well. It is however, only the forward-looking employers with ready,
willing and knowledgeable personnel, who can gain the full rewards for the
benefit of their stakeholders. The human resource base is the crucial
element that brings meaning to the other factors of production and therefore
deserves to be nurtured, developed, groomed and re-engineered to the fullest
potential. Thus the institutions and employers whose operating philosophy
recognizes the critical role of human resource above that of balance sheet
items such as fixed assets and loan and equity capital, will fulfill their
mandate and become the success stories of our time.
At the National Banking College, we underscore the importance and the
relevance of knowledge-based skills, networking and excellence, as the
primary success factors for enhancing the practice of banking and financial
management. Because we evolved from banking practice to become trainers,
researchers and consultants, we have an unparalleled understanding of client
problems. In addition to the advertised annual calendar, the College also
packages custom-made training and development programmes to meet the
peculiar needs of its client institutions. These include sessions delivered
at client premises as well as programmes for targeted groups such as the
micro-finance institutions.
Through a carefully blended mix of practical case studies in syndicate and
participant-led discussions, seminars, workshops and actual training
sessions, the College encourages and ensures the adoption of the best
practices for excellence and optimum results. All the courses are prepared
and presented by seasoned and experienced on-staff faculty with useful
insights from carefully selected adjunct faculty.
